The Department of the Air Force is one of the three military departments within the U.S. Department of Defense, alongside the Department of the Army and the Department of the Navy. It is responsible for organizing, training, and equipping the United States Air Force (USAF), which is one of the nation’s military services, as well as the United States Space Force (USSF).
