“Go Direct” by the U.S. Department of the Treasury in partnership with the Federal Reserve Banks

“Go Direct” is a campaign and program initiated by the U.S. Department of the Treasury in partnership with the Federal Reserve Banks. The primary goal of Go Direct is to encourage federal benefit recipients to receive their payments electronically, particularly through direct deposit into their bank accounts, or through the Direct Express Debit MasterCard program.

This program is specifically aimed at individuals who receive federal benefits, such as Social Security, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits, and other federal payments. By choosing direct deposit or the Direct Express card, beneficiaries can receive their payments more securely, reliably, and conveniently compared to receiving paper checks through the mail.
