The Marine Minerals Information System (MMIS) is a database and information system maintained by the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM). The primary purpose of MMIS is to collect, manage, and provide access to data related to marine mineral resources found on the U.S. Outer Continental Shelf (OCS). This includes information about sand, gravel, and other mineral resources that can be extracted from the seabed for various purposes, such as coastal restoration, construction, and other projects.
