National Weather Service

The National Weather Service (NWS) is a component of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) within the U.S. Department of Commerce. It is responsible for providing weather, water, and climate data, forecasts, warnings, and other related information to the public and various sectors of the U.S. government. The NWS plays a critical role in monitoring and predicting weather and environmental conditions to protect lives and property and to support the nation’s economy.
