The Office of Environmental Management

The Office of Environmental Management (EM) is a department within the United States Department of Energy (DOE) responsible for managing the cleanup and remediation of environmental contamination resulting from decades of nuclear weapons production and other energy-related activities. EM’s mission is to address the environmental legacy of the U.S. nuclear weapons program and the environmental challenges associated with various DOE operations.
