The Yellow Book” often refers to the “Government Auditing Standards” published by the Government Accountability Office (GAO). These standards provide guidance on auditing federal government organizations and programs. They are sometimes referred to as the “Yellow Book” due to the distinctive yellow cover of the printed document.
